Davey’s Machine Shop Technology (DMST) is committed to development of its technical capabilities, resources, management techniques and operational practices in its quest for service excellence. The facility is fully equipped with the relevant tools and equipment required to perform general and specialized machine shop services including turning, milling, drilling, cutting, shaping, welding and fabrication. The capabilities of the company include both off- and on-site machine shop services. Our objective is to add value to the clients’ operations by facilitating the realization of their operational targets, safely and efficiently with ZERO tolerance for accidents.

Our Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Policy reflects our corporate responsibility to prevent harm to people, avoid damage to property and protect the environment from adverse effects that may arise from our operations.

As such, with the involvement and commitment of Management, (DMST) has specific aims and objectives with respect to health, safety / machine shop safety and environmental management within the company.

It is pledge to operate a Health, Safety and Environmental Management System that ensures the following objectives are achieved:

• Full compliance with all legislative requirements in respect of health, safety, security and the environment.
• Prevention of incidents, accidents and occupational ill-health by identifying hazards through regular inspections, assessments and reporting procedures. Implementation of proper control measures that will reduce risk to as low as reasonably practical.
• Utilize internationally accepted standards, associated codes of practice and procedures for all activities which may present significant risks to our stakeholders.
• Provision and promotion of safe equipment, safe systems of work and safe working condition to encourage a ‘zero-accident’ lifestyle.
• Avoid pollution and the release of effluents that can have adverse effects to the environment as far as is reasonably practicable.
• Through active participation, consultation and effective communication with employees, work towards continuously improving our HSSE management and performance.
• Analyse HSSE performance and review HSSE Policy Statement annually or as necessary. • Investigate and report all near misses, dangerous occurrences and accidents to prevent their recurrence. • Continually review HSSE documentation to ensure that they are kept updated and applicable.
• Audit all activities, procedures and programs to ensure compliance and conformance, as well as to make changes to these where necessary.
• Hold yearly HSSE meetings by HSSE committee to discuss matters related to HSSE within our worksites. These meetings may also be held when it is deemed urgently necessary to do so.

These objectives will be realized by implementing procedures and management systems that are designed to result in compliance.
